You have probably already noticed that Instagram started showing new short videos from other users on your feed. These 15s long videos are called Reels and are a great opportunity for showcasing your business to even more people.
Why should small businesses use Instagram Reels?
Now is the perfect opportunity to use the new Instagram feature as it is still not oversaturated and most of the users have not started using it yet. The reach of your Reels videos is therefore much higher than of your regular posts. For example, the normal reach of my posts on Instagram is around 500 to 1000 and with Reels, I have already reached 2000 people without using any hashtags.
Instagram Reels shows videos on Reels page that is similar to For You page from TikTok and is therefore shown to others randomly and these others are in the majority, not even your followers. Reels videos should be similar to the videos you see on TikTok, which means that they should be funny, informative, educational and as a small business you have endless opportunities to show your process of working, day to day life, and behind the scenes.
Instagram Reels is a feature that is going to stay, that is why it is important that you learn how to use it now. For more information about what Reels is and how to create one, I am leaving a link from a great and very informative blog post by Later.
And if you prefer videos over text, you can watch it here:

If you're exploring Instagram Reels and comparing them to TikTok, https://www.movavi.com/support/how-to/how-to-capture-video.html can be a great tool to capture and analyze both. It’s perfect for recording Reels and TikToks, allowing you to see what works best for your content. I’ve used it to review and enhance my videos, and it’s really useful for optimizing your approach on both platforms.
